On June 11, we’ll explore the groundbreaking (sometimes literally) science in and around Fredericton.
Ticket Price: $65 (The ticket includes transportation and lunch.)
Pickup Location: University of New Brunswick, exact time and location TBC
In the morning, we’ll start with a visit to the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Fredericton Research and Development Centre. The Fredericton RDC conducts research in the areas of horticulture, bioproducts, biodiversity, agro-ecosystem productivity and health, specializing in potato cropping systems at all scales.
In the afternoon, we’ll take you on a bumper crop of tours at some of UNB’s top research facilities, including the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, home to leading mobility and prosthetic rehabilitation and prosthetic controls research (and celebrating its 60th anniversary this year!), the Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence, where researchers are inventing new smart materials and developing methods of 3D printing ship parts while at sea, and the Wood Science Technology Centre, where trees, one of New Brunswick’s most bountiful resources, are processed and researched in a wide range of perspectives and applications, and likely more!
