From its beginnings as the Canadian Science Writers Association, this organization has had a significant impact in bridging science and society. We have elevated the communication of science, created a national community, fostered collaboration, and enriched lives through workshops and events. You'll find all this and more in these pages.
On behalf of the SWCC, we are grateful to the hardworking volunteers who have compiled these memories and made this book a reality: Janice Benthin, Oliver Bertin, Noelle Chorney, Jeff Crelinsten, Lydia Dotto, Claire Eamer, Eva Everything, Dan Falk, Geoff Foulds, Ki-Youn Kim, Helen Leask, Tim Lougheed, Veronique Morin, Kathryn O’Hara, Pat Rich, Bud Riley, Trevor Rines, Marina Rowbotham, Michael Smith, Brad Spurgeon, and Jim Steinhart. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Our special thanks to Pippa Wysong for her leadership and dedication to this project.
We hope that this history leaves you with pride in the past and inspiration for the future. Here's to the next 50 years of the SWCC and science writing in Canada!
