Join us for our November Member Meet-Up presenting the SWCC’s updated mission, vision, and values and how ethics shape them! We invite SWCC members to join us on November 16th via Zoom from 12pm to 1pm eastern.
This session will be led by Noelle Chorney, SWCC’s Vice-President and Terry Lavender, SWCC’s Past President and chair of our ethics committee. SWCC was founded in 1970 as the Canadian Science Writers’ Association by a small group of science and medical reporters. Today, we are a national association that welcomes media professionals, communications officers in science and technology-related institutions, technical writers, and educators – all of whom are involved in communicating science and technology to non-specialist audiences.
Earlier this year, we underwent an internal and member engagement process to establish a vision and renew our mission and value statements to better reflect our current members and the future of the SWCC. In this meet up we will present our updated mission, vision, and values, discuss how we incorporated member feedback, as well as how ethics impacted them.
We hope you can make it!
