Description
The Space Race is a YouTube channel dedicated to making the universe’s greatest mysteries and humanity’s boldest engineering feats accessible to everyone. From deep space phenomena like dwarf planets and the nature of gravity, to the mechanics of rockets and the cutting edge of space exploration, we cover the full breadth of space science and technology, always with a focus on clear, compelling storytelling. We’re looking for talented freelance writers to join our team on a per-script basis, with the opportunity to grow into a longer-term role for the right person. The ideal candidate is someone who can take a genuinely complex topic, whether that’s orbital mechanics, planetary science, or spacecraft engineering, and turn it into a script that’s accurate, engaging, and accessible to a general audience. You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but you should be curious, rigorous, and a natural storyteller.
We’re looking for writers who:
- Can translate complex space science and engineering concepts for a general audience without sacrificing accuracy
- Write with clarity, narrative structure, and at an accessible level to all audiences.
- Are comfortable researching across any of the following space topics, from astrophysics and planetary science to rocket engineering and spaceflight.
- Have prior experience writing scripts for YouTube or other video/audio formats (preferred)
