SWCC Sponsorship Opportunities

To sponsor SWCC, please email treasurer@sciencewriters.ca All sponsors require approval of the Board of Directors.

We have two sponsorship categories:

  • Sponsorship throughout the year
  • Sponsorship for our annual conference

Sponsorships Throughout the Year

$5,000+ Universe level

  • Sponsor recognition for an online presentation, including input into topics and a one-minute introduction about your program or institution. Topic will require board approval.
  • Free passes to the presentation (10 free passes to the online event)
  • Social media mentions in promotion of the event
  • Recognition on the sciencewriters.ca home page, exclusive to Universe level sponsors, for a year, including a link to your institution
  • Logo and link on the SWCC sponsor page at sciencewriters.ca

$2,500 Galaxy level

  • Sponsor recognition for an online presentation, including input into topics and a one-minute introduction about your program or institution. Topic will require board approval.
  • Social media mentions in promotion of the event
  • Logo and link on the SWCC sponsor page at sciencewriters.ca

$1,000 Solar System level

  • Sponsor recognition at an online SWCC “member meet up”
  • Social media mention in promotion of this event
  • Logo and link on the SWCC sponsor page at sciencewriters.ca

OR

  • Sponsor the SWCC online job board for one year
  • Social media mention in promotion of this event
  • Logo and link on the SWCC sponsor page at sciencewriters.ca

$500 Earth and Moon level

  • Sponsored blog post at sciencewriters.ca, submitted by your program or institution (upon SWCC board approval of the topic and post). The post is recognized as sponsored.
  • Logo and link on the SWCC sponsor page at sciencewriters.ca

OR

  • Banner ad at sciencewriters.ca (One of up to five in rotation.)

$250 Moon level

  • Co-sponsored (shared sponsorship) blog post at sciencewriters.ca, submitted by partner programs or institutions (upon SWCC board approval of the topic and post). The post is recognized as sponsored.

OR 

  • Ad in the SWCC quarterly email newsletter to members

Conference Sponsorship 

Our 2026 conference will take place June 15 – 16 in Montréal. This year our theme is Discovery, Dialogue, Decision. This reflects our mission to bridge the gap between the rapid pace of innovation and public understanding, in a challenging landscape of political polarization, misinformation, and the decline of traditional media.

It is thanks to the generous support from our sponsors that we can hold our conference nearly every year (since 1972!) and make its programming accessible to our community of science journalists and communicators.
